Health & Wellness Services at The IRC- Spokane, WA

There are so many remarkable moments working in refugee resettlement, and this was one of them!

Eliana, a Joel E. Ferris High School student, chose to support IRC Spokane for her FCCLA project this year. She gathered donations to collect every single item from our housing supply list to fully and completely furnish an apartment for a newly arrived refugee mother and her two kids, including dishes, furniture, cleaning supplies, hygiene items, and more.

She provided far beyond what was required in order to make this house a home. When she and our client met, tears and hugs were exchanged and the two of them instantly went from strangers to friends.

Eliana shared with us, “This was such a special experience. To me, this has become so much more than just a project.”

Thanks you Eliana for welcoming refugees in the warmest way!
